Indonesia Airline Places Largest Ever Boeing Order

Indonesia's Lion Air has signed a deal to buy 230 Boeing 737 airplanes for a list price of nearly $22-billion, the U.S. firms largest commercial order, by both dollar volume and total number of airplanes.
The agreement, announced Thursday, sees Lion Air, Indonesia's largest commercial carrier, purchasing 201 Boeing 737Max aircraft and 29 extended-range 737-900s. The deal also includes purchase rights for 150 more planes.
The company says President Barack Obama will attend a signing ceremony on Friday at the East Asia Summit in Bali, Indonesia.
In separate developments, Boeing says Singapore airlines has also placed an order for eight wide-body 777 planes at a list price of $2.4 billion. On Sunday, Emirates Airline ordered 50 Boeing 777s, with a list price of $18 billion.
